Groove Armada -
Vertigo Under
the trustworthy influence of Air, this sweet,
beat-heavy, and inviting album celebrates
pleasure. 2000

Enigma - The
Cross of Changes In their second album, Enigma leaves
the Gregorian chant behind for a new landscape
strewn with tribes, holy echoes, and chanteuses.
Maybe it's the synthesizers, the samples, or
I-don't-know-what, but this German techno-trance
group manages to unwind, relax, and heal, so much
so that I can forgive them for "The Dream of
the Dolphin," which actually includes the
painfully ridiculous lyrical bromide "Man...
is the dream... of the dolphin." 1994

William Orbit -
Strange Cargo III Best electronica mixer in the world,
this is the best of his quietly brilliant
"Strange Cargo" series. "Water
from a Vine Leaf," in its original form and
in countless remixes (the best probably being
Sasha and Digweed's Xylem Flow), remains possibly
the best song, like, evah. 1993
